Reverse Tashlich with JYCM and Adamah NY

Join Jewish Youth Climate Movement, Adamah NY, and Riverdale Y for a community-focused and teen-led Reverse Tashlich Park Cleanup at Van Cortlandt Park on September 29th from 3-5pm EST. The location is 80 Van Cortlandt Park S, Bronx NY 10463. The closest entrance is the 1 train to Van Cortlandt Park-242 Street Station.

It will be a great way to connect with nature, build relationships with community members, and greet the new year. By filling this form out, you are registered for the event.

Adamah is teaming up with Repair the Sea (repairthesea.org) which is hosting their 7th annual international day of reverse tashlich, meaning by participating in this event, you will be connected with Jewish people across the world working to clean up the earth and the sea together. Instead of throwing our sins metaphorically into waterways for the new year, please join us in picking up "sins" (aka trash) to improve public spaces for our community, as well as beautify our planet.

The Jewish Youth Climate Movement, founded in 2020, is a Gen Z-led movement dedicated to combating climate change and environmental injustice from a Jewish lens. Our goal is to make taking collective action towards climate justice a central, defining feature of what it means to be Jewish over the next decade, empowering the next generation of Jewish youth to be leaders in our fight to build a sustainable and equitable world for all.

Adamah NY implements Adamah’s national mission on a local scale: connecting people and planet in New York through climate action, youth empowerment, and Jewish environmental education. Together with UJA Federation of New York, and our municipal and regional community partners, Adamah NY is strengthening our communal resiliency in the face of global uncertainty and responding to the existential crisis of our time with the full power of the Jewish spirit. Adamah NY is poised for tremendous impact in the months and years ahead – catalyzing vibrant 21st century Jewish life at the intersection of Jewish values and sustainability.
