Methane to Mitzvah – Fall 2026 Food Waste Challenge

Adamah on Campus and Hillel International are launching the “Methane to Mitzvah” challenge for Fall 2026, kicking off an ongoing initiative to bring bold sustainability efforts to Hillels around the country. The Fall 2026 semester challenge will focus on reducing food waste and turning everyday choices into meaningful impact.

Hillels and Adamah Campus chapters can earn points by hosting food waste programs from our “Menu of Options.” The chapter with the most points at the end of the challenge will win a cash prize to further sustainability and climate action projects on their campus. Points will be tracked and reported periodically throughout the semester. The challenge runs from September 1 to December 15.

Pictures of the event or action are required to receive points. If you cannot take pictures due to Shabbat/holiday observance, you must submit a photo of the setup in advance.
